44 Contestants Remaining at the 1pm Break on Day 3

Fatigue and exhaustion do not falter the determination of the contestants

3 November 2019 – Two days into Last Palm Standing – Mediacorp Subaru Car Challenge, 34 local and 10 regional participants are still in the running for the grand prize of a brand-new Subaru. The Thai contingent is the best performing team at the moment with three contestants standing. Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines are still in the running for the overall title, while contestants from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan have left the competition.

Mazlinah Bte Ahmad is back for the sixth time. She has not wavered despite the blazing heat. The 54-year-old Singaporean is determined to keep her hand on the car until the end. “I dance to the music and that keeps me going,” Mazlinah said. “I want to push myself beyond my limits and see how far I can go.”

Another participant known for his endurance is Tan Chuan Kok from Malaysia. The 44-year-old is back for the 10th time, “I enjoy making friends from the different regions. Some of my friends that are here to root for me are contestants from the past challenges. We are all really good friends now.”

Last Palm Standing – Mediacorp Subaru Car Challenge is proving to be as rigorous for loved ones as it is for participants. Friends and family members of the contestants have anxiously stood by the arena since Saturday. “It is a tough challenge and we want to do all we can to show our support,” said 32-year-old Muhammed Yusof who is here to support his brother, 28-year-old Malik. “It is not easy, especially in the middle of the night, so we take turns to come down and show him some support throughout the night.”

Non-contestants can continue to show their support by participating in the Reward Rounds at http://lastpalmstanding.com and assign the reward – an extra five-minute break to a contestant of their choice.

The final contestant standing with his or her palm firmly placed on the car will drive home a brand-new:
